At Simply Out Of School we know that all children are different, so we have developed systems which allow our trained staff to meet the needs of all the children who come to us. Our support services extend from Breakfast Clubs to After School and Holiday Clubs, all designed for children over 3 years of age.

This is a new club, opening September 2010. We require suitabley qualified staff (Level 3 Diploma in Playwork).

DETAILS OF POSITIONS

 

Playleaders                                                                   

Hours of work: Monday – Friday (term time only)

                                    After School Club: 15:00 – 18:00

                                    (Breakfast Club [where required : 07.30/08:00– 09:00)

                                    Some holiday work may be available.

 

Job Description:            * In charge of the day-to-day running of the After School Club, including setting up and clearing up.

                                    * Responsibility for the safety and welfare of the children.

                                    * Staff management.

                                    * Some daily paperwork.

* Preparing snack, drinks and tea in line with club’s Healthy Eating Policy.

* Supervising play opportunities with children.

* Planning and preparation of craft activities and assisting children with these.

 

Qualifications:               A Level 3 qualification in Playwork is preferred, or willingness to study for this.

                                    Current First Aid and Food Hygiene Certificates an advantage.

 

Experience:                   Playwork experience with children age 3 – 11 essential.

 

Rate of pay:                  £8.00 - £10.00 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.

 

The successful candidates will be lively, enthusiastic, well organised and self-motivated people who are able to work as part of a team and on their own initiative. They will have some leadership skills. They must be able to get on well with, and respect all children and adults, must be prepared to ‘muck-in’ with all tasks and must have a good understanding of safety awareness and risk assessment. They must be willing to undergo relevant initial and on-going training and CRB checks.

Two references will be required at interview stage.

A full CV (with no time gaps) is required prior to interview.

 

 

Playworkers

Rate of pay:                  £6.00 - £8.00 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
